AUDEMAR is on a short break after his excellent second half of the season and is likely to be brought back early next year. The son of Exceed And Excel won two handicaps at Kempton and was in the four on three other occasions over the last three months at the Surry track. Trainer Ed Vaughan said: “Audemar has run really well at Kempton and can perhaps be considered unlucky not to have won more than twice this year. “He is having a break now and will start back in exercise early in December with a view to getting going with him again in late January, February time. “He seems well suited by competing on the all-weather and there are several valuable races that we can look at with him.” Vaughan has two runners declared for Wednesday with Othello set to make his debut in an extended mile maiden at Nottingham. He is a gelding by Azamour. Then that night the trainer sends Astronomer’s Dream to Kempton for a mile nursery at Kempton. She is a filly by Galileo who has been handed a mark of 65 after three starts. Vaughan’s charge is well drawn in 14. |
